Although the structure of molds manufactured by different types and properties of plastics, shapes and structures of plastic products, and types of injection machines are different, the basic structure of molds is the same. Most molds are composed of pouring system, temperature control system, molding parts, structural parts, etc. Among them, the parts in direct contact with plastics are pouring system and molding parts, and these two parts will also change with different plastic products, which are relatively complicated parts of plastic molds.

Injection mold is usually divided into two parts: moving mold and fixed mold. The movable mold is installed on the moving template of the injection molding machine, while the fixed mold is installed on the fixed template of the injection molding machine. I. Pouring system
Pouring system, also known as runner system, refers to the part of the runner before the plastic enters the cavity from the nozzle, which is related to the quality of plastic products during molding and the efficiency of producing plastic products.
1. Main channel
The function of the main runner in the injection mold is to connect the nozzle of the injection molding machine to the shunt runner and the channel of the cavity.
The top of the main channel is concave, which is to facilitate the connection with the nozzle.
Generally, the diameter of the main channel inlet should be slightly larger than the nozzle diameter (0.8mm), so that there will be no overflow and the blockage caused by the connection between the main channel and the nozzle can be avoided.
2. Cold material hole
The cold material cavity is the cavity in the injection mold located at the end of the main runner, which can trap the high cold material generated between two injections of the injection molding machine nozzle.
The cold cavity can also avoid the blocking problem of the runner and gate. If the cold material is mixed into the cavity, the produced plastic products are prone to internal stress.
3. Shunt channel
In the multi-groove mold, a branch channel is needed to connect the main channel with each cavity.
The distribution of runners on the mold should be symmetrical and equidistantly distributed, so that the molten material can fill all cavities at equal speed.
4. Gate
The gate is the channel that connects the main runner (or branch runner) with the cavity. The shape and scale of the gate will have a great impact on the quality of plastic products.
Second, the temperature control system
In the production process, it is necessary to have a temperature regulating system to regulate the temperature of the mold, which is to meet the requirements of injection technology on the mold temperature.
III. Molded parts
Molding parts are the parts that make up plastic products, usually including moving mold, fixed mold, cavity, core, molding rod, exhaust port and so on.
Generally, the molding parts are divided into two parts: core and die. The core forms the inner and outer surface of the product. After mold closing, the core and cavity form the cavity of the mold, while the female die forms the outer and outer shape of the product.
According to the different process and manufacturing requirements, the core and die can be made up of several pieces or integrated.
IV. Exhaust port
The vent is a slot-shaped vent in the injection mold, which can be used to vent the gas originally existing in the cavity and the gas brought in by the melt.
When the melt is injected into the mold cavity, the air originally existing in the mold cavity and the gas brought in by the melt need to be discharged through the exhaust port. If it cannot be discharged, there will be air holes, poor contact, unsatisfied mold filling, etc.
